"Health passport" of the country should be created within implementation of the healthcare reform.
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made the foregoing statement in the interview to Rada television channel.
Asked about the newly-adopted bill on the healthcare reform in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk regions and in Kyiv, V.Lytvyn laid emphasis on the rational use of allocated funds. Thus, the Head of the Parliament calls for revising the existing system of financial support, making it patient-oriented.
Within the healthcare reform in these regions, V.Lytvyn recommends ‘taking stock´ of public health, finding out the health condition of the people, most widespread illnesses and their causes.
The Head of the Parliament deems necessary to develop a ‘health passport´ of the country, and similar passports for every region, district and settlement, taking measures to provide the primary health care. Moreover, every regional hospital shall be fitted with the modern medical equipment, and a sanitary aviation should be renewed to guarantee emergency aid.
"We need a balanced dialogue and a respective decision, so that every person would know that they are protected. Everyone should realize the benefits of the suggested changes," V.Lytvyn declared. The reform having been implemented in three regions and Kyiv, respective legislative acts might be amended, and a nation-wide reform might be launched.
